I must say, getting a Target Red card had to have been one of the worst decisions I’ve ever made.
I’m in Target every week to begin with, really who isn’t? Why shouldn’t I have one?
I try to go in for just the “things on my list” but if there’s someone out in the interwebs that is capable of that, I’d like to meet you.
If I bring my kids, especially Stella, there’s no chance of me getting out of there without any extras.
Now, I’ve been using Cartwheel for quite a while (after deleting and reinstalling because of forgotten passwords), I’m a sucker for a sale or a deal. Now with my Red Card I get an extra 5% off every time I use it.
Do you know what that means? I can buy 5% more stuff.
How is that saving me money?
When I clean out my purse it’s stuffed with Target receipts.
Whenever I need anything I head to Target because I can use my Red Card and save money.
Who am I kidding? I’m not really saving anything. I now buy a bunch of my groceries at Target, why not? Stop & Shop isn’t offering me any deals at checkout.
I even get 5¢ off for bringing my own bag (more savings).
Brilliant move Target, now I spend more time and money in your store and I’m positive there are millions more like me.
The man or woman that came up with the 5% off idea better have gotten the biggest bonus imaginable, because it is well deserved.
I’m glad I opted for the debit and not the credit, at least that way I have slow my roll and not go nuts in the underwear department.
Seriously, I’m glad I have it, not thrilled with my shopping habits.

Hahaha. This is a funny post and sounds just like me. I tend to go for a quick item and come out with clothes for myself. But you know what, I can’t beat the prices and quality. Love Target.
I can’t do this haha They offer it to me every single time I’m in that store, and it takes everything in me to say no. I love it, but I know I would be in deeeeep trouble if I furthered my Target habits by getting a Red Card!
I love how they entice us with save 5% when they actually mean spend another 5% on more things lol. Genius idea

Omg! Target is the devil! Not really, but, yes it is! Lol. I used to work at a student loan company. In the same shopping center as Target. I could walk there on my lunch hour. NOOOO. My paycheck a were gone in no time! I’m now at another job and live in a different state from my job. I don’t stop there much anymore due to the already long drive I have home! Lol.
I swear I live at Target!! I love that they offer the 5% discount on a debit card, I as well would be in trouble if it was a credit card!

You make me laugh because I think I’m exactly like that. I think I can save your money so why not get more.

I hear you on the shopping habits, sounds like a good card to have. I honestly hadn’t even heard of the card before.

I’m always at Target too. It has so many great deals….which means I can buy more stuff.
I have one of those tricky little Red Cards as well! I love to save 5%, but not when I am spending 25% more than I would without the card!
I have been thinking about getting that card for a while now. Every time I visit Target, they ask me if I want the card. I never have the time, though. I’m not sure if I’ll get it soon!

It’s a great card if you could stick to the list. I would have to same problem with spending so much more than I should.

Oh no! Yeah I get carried away with my shopping sometimes too. It’s nice to have that 5% bonus though.
I have never heard of Target RedCard but I am not a b bit Target shopper so I can see why I haven’t. I do believe it could be useful if your trying to saving with already discounted products
I adore Target and am an avid Cartwheel user as well, but have yet to make the RedCard plunge. I think I will finally give in and sign up during the holidays.

That’s to bad! I honestly don’t shop at Target much. My nearest one is about 45 minutes away, otherwise I would go there more often. I love Target!
I cringe when my wife says she is heading to Target!! I know she love that extra 5% savings, but the bill still ends up adding up.

I wish we had a Target near by! I guess I should be thankful because I know where I would be spending all my money!

I have one and I love it. I’d like to say that I spend more with it but let’s be honest- I would still spend just as much there lol 🙂
Love this very funny, but true for so many of us moms. I can’t remember the last time I left the store with my kid and didn’t get extras.
I do not have a Target a red card but I do shop there multiple times per week. Your reasoning is exactly why I do not want one..too tempting.
Omgoodness what is it about Target – I go in there and come out with a cart load. Every time. I go in for pens and come out with a cart load. Love this post.
Thanks goodness Tarhet is far from our area lol. I only shopped there once so I have no problem overspending.

This is my first time to see this and it looks really great for my wife. I hope we can also have it in my area.
Whenever they ask me if I want one, I say no and just pretend I never heard about that extra discount incentive when you apply. I love Target, but I pay in cash!

I am always looking for ways to save more money. I wish we still had Target in Canada. I loved shopping there.
I would love to get that extra 5% off, but unfortunately, there aren’t any Target stores in my immediate viscinity.
