It’s time, it’s here!
It’s Christmas Time!!!
I love this time of year, there’s so much to do and see. I can hardly figure out where to begin.
First, we break out the “24 Chocolate Days” or what regular people call, an advent calendar. One of my kids, no naming names, saves up the chocolates so there will be a whole bunch to eat at once.
We also make a list of all the things we want and need to do and see during this wonderfully festive season.
In the past all the things were put into the daily advent house and we pulled out the day’s event or task. That didn’t always work out, so this year I am just going to go with a Holiday Adventure Task Wish List.
Here is what we are hoping to accomplish this holiday season.
- Put up the tree
- Winter Wonderland
- Make reindeer food
- Make popcorn garland
- Deliver Elves for Elders gifts
- La Salette Shrine
- Celebrate Maizie’s Birthday
- Send Christmas Cards
- Light Show – Mystic
- Make Gingerbread House
- Watch Christmas movies in pajamas
- Shop for each other
- Drive around and look at lights
- Decorate cookies
- Pancakes and cocoa for dinner
- Visit Santa
- Make giant snowflakes
- Make a wreath
- Make fudge
- Make ornaments
- Waffle cake trees
- Put out presents
- Holiday market
- Auntie Sally’s
There it is. On some days we might not do anything, on others we may double up. There may be things we do that are not on this list, who knows what the season brings.
Do you have anything planned this Holiday Season?
We do a yearly Christmas Eve party at my sister in law’s house for my in laws and our families. I love it and great fun for us and kids too.

Make and bake Christmas cookies is always on my list. It’s something the kids and I have done for years. Sort of a family tradition I guess.
We love using an advent calendar to count down the holidays. My favorite Christmas activity is caroling with friends and neighbors.
We are starting our Christmas baking today. The kids are really excited and the big guy can’t wait to taste some of the goodies that will be made.

Christmas has always been my favorite time of year. I love the 24 Chocolate Days, that is my kind of advent calendar.
I forgot about advent calendars this year and last. I used to love them as a kid and know my kids used to enjoy them too, kind of bummed.
The only thing I have planned is to get lots of baking done and make sure I get all my work done in time for the holidays so I can enjoy with my family!
We have quite a few things planned this holiday season. One of our favorites every year is seeing the Christmas lights.
That’s quite an ambitious Christmas list you have. I love the idea of the chocolate Advent calendar that’s a tasty way to do it for sure.
As an intentional mom, I want to do everything on this list. However, I am going to choose three for now. We will have so much fun!

I love this! So many things I want to do every year but this is sucha fun way to do it!
This is such a fun idea. I love that you listed out everything you hope to accomplish. I might do something similar with my kids.
I might do the same. What a great way to decide and prioritize what you want to do for the holiday.
I love this time of the year too. We still have to put up our Christmas tree too but there never seems to be enough time during the week to do so.
I love this idea! The Holidays are such an amazing time of year, I love creating traditions and memories like this.
That’s a wonderful list to accomplish! I see a few things I would like to add to my list as well.
Its a good idea to set yourslef tasks everyday, it can get very overwhelming sometimes in our house as I literally take down my normal ornaments and replace them with christmas ones so theres a lot to do. I might try this method next year see if its less stressful

The popcorn garland sounds like a fun thing to do with kids. I don’t think I would be able to complete one though, I’d probably end up\ eating them all lol.
I haven’t made a popcorn garland in years! I don’t know if the kids would be able to make one with out eating all of the popcorn!
We did something like this growing up. I need to implement it in my house now! Thanks for the post!
Isn’t this time of year just the best?? Si, may be more hectic than usual, but if one has a list like you do it doesn’t seem as daunting. Gracias for the tips. BB2U
Love these ideas! We’re also doing an activity each day until Christmas. Thanks for some more great ideas!
You sure have a fully booked holiday season! We don’t have lists like that, we just enjoy each day as it comes. My kids are grown so they do have activities of their own to attend. But when we are all together, we make the most of it. We cook, bake, play board games, watch a movie, make popcorn, etc. Happy times!
We used to do those chocolate advent calendars when we were kids and I always saved all my chocolate, too! It’s better when you can stuff it all in your mouth at once at the end of the month.
Our plans include decorating the house to the hilt, driving around and looking at lights, and watching as many Christmas specials as possible. Awwww yeah!
Wow, that is some list to be accomplished! My holiday season usually includes sleeping and catching up on TV shows! I wish you best of luck along with a happy holiday season.
This is brilliant. What a great way to keep on track and stay organized during the holidays! I’ve never seen anything like this, but definitely want to do it this year!
Last year my daughter got into the WHOLE calendar on like the third day. Hopefully she does better this year! I love your ideas of things to do, going to have to steal some
You have a great plan for December and I love that it includes so many family activities. I bet your children will love Winter Wonderland. You are very organised for this season!
Yes! We have big plans for the holidays. Our grandkids are growing up way too fast and this year we’re out to keep them in there quickly passing childhood.
That is quite an extensive planning you have for the holiday season. Nothing planned for me just yet ahah
I love your ideas. Holidays are the best time of the year
I like your idea of writing all of your holiday plans out. That way you can see just how much you are doing for the family. I might steal your coco and pancake supper idea!
I love checking things off my list this time of the year. Everything is so memorable!
Pancakes and cocoa for dinner sounds like an awesome idea. I may just have to do that as well!
I definitely need to make a trip to winter wonderland that is for sure! I love the idea of making waffle cake trees as well that sounds like a lot of fun x
So much to do before Christmas! So overwhelming!
This is one of my favorite times of year as well. I love spending time with family and friends during the holidays. It’s always the best. We just started doing those chocolate advent calendars too!
Your December is going to be a ton of fun! I love this list. I should start planning some things too.
My kids enjoy being hands on too. I think they would love to get really involved with the season.
This is such a great idea. I will have to check this out for my kiddies!
Our plans include picking up and decorating a tree, hanging up lights, presents and cookies. We got a tree this past weekend waiting to be decorated and lights were hung already. Not much left we “need” to do so we can wing it!
We went to Blink in Boston, heading to NYC in a few weeks, LaSalette caroling. So much planned and super excited to do it all!
This year we plan to relax no travel plans or heavy cooking. Just the two of us!
I love the holiday season and everything it entails, from baking to parties. But I think my fave thing to do is something I’ve done with my kids for years: doing community service projects such as serving Christmas dinner to the homeless.
We do several of these activities but there are some new ones as well. I can’t wait to try out some of the new ideas.

Talking about what you hope to accomplish, I think setting up a tree should be considered first as aligned on your list
That is quite a list that you need to accomplish for Christmas time. Good luck and happy holidays! 🙂
Love these ideas! Really awesome ways to make holiday memories with the family!
I absolutely love these ideas! It’s really important to enjoy Holiday with family and relatives!
Im super festive so I enjoyed this list. I actually want to drive around and look for lights soon.
Great ideas! The Christmas spirit has just entered us. We start with the decoration.
We are not going to our home country this holiday so we wrote many many things on papers, foled them and put them in a glass bottle. We take two papers out the night before and plan how we will do those activities the next day. This is our first time doing this and it is so much fun and I don’t have to use my brain much. >.< haha
I always have a chocolate advent calendar once December hits, it’s a fun activity for all ages! I also like the idea of making an activity list for the month, it brings together the family and builds excitement for Christmas

I really like this idea. Instead of chocolate have something planned for that specific day. I’ll have to try this.

I love the way you planned it.. I would do something like this from next year once my kiddo is a toddler 😀
